I believe baby should be the primary focus of your cake smash. Too many themed props or bright colours, can take away from the star of the show!
If you have a theme in mind I can tailor your cake smash session to embrace the theme in a minimal way so it doesn't distract or overwhelm baby.

We can add pops of colour with some floral's, a few balloons, or a beautiful outfit. All the while, making sure baby isn't overshadowed.

I absolutely love cake smashes. They are so much fun. However, it's worth noting that not all baby's will feel the same way. If your child isn't a fan of getting messy, or touching strange textures, then maybe it would be better to do a birthday themed shoot instead, without the cake.
